The Urban estate on Pine Ridge Road in Cheektowaga, eight acres large, was surrounded by farm land. A gentleman farmer, George Urban, Jr. engaged in raising large numbers of chickens in modern poultry houses. He had a greenhouse with lemon trees, flowers, and extensive flower and vegetable gardens. His vineyard had 29 varieties of grapes. The estate featured a 3/4 acre pond with trout and carp. |

George Urban, Jr. died in 1928, but family members continued to live in the mansion, expanding and remodeling over the decades. |
